Public Folder Store Permissions - 8.Feb.2005 7:45:00 PM
Guest
Please help,
I messed up the server by accident. I created a new Public Folder store and then for some reason unticked the inherit permissions in the security tab and clicked to remove the inherited permissions and pressed ok.

Now NOBODY has access to view it, read it, or even list it. Not even the system, or the domain administrator etc. The store is not associated with any tree and isnÆt mounted but I want it removed.

I have been in ADSI edit - I can see it but cannot remove it. Does anyone have any ideas? Please can you let me know even if I have no chance?

I DID the exact same thing today. Been looking all over the internet for an answer.

Comments:

I can see all the public folder structure through Outlook but not the contents. Under folders in ESM I CANT see any structure. My pub1.edb file is still the correct size so I know the data is there.

Thanks,

Chris B.

I cant seem to start this program, keep getting a initialization failure. Does this program have to be run under a specific directory?

this is the error I am getting:

PFDavadmin could not be initialized: Failed to bind to Exchange organizational objects. Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Stack trace: at pfdavadmin.CommonStuff..ctor() at pfdavadmin.Form1..ctor()

Seems like I am screwed? any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris B.

Hmm..not certain about that issue, but it does seem to happen to other folks (no resoltion unfortunately).

You may want to give a call to MS Support at this point.
