corrupt log file

Hi,

My Exchange is operational at the moment and I'm reluctant to make any changes but my backup logs are reporting a corrupt file, yet the size of the backup is still the same as it was before it started failing.

Here is the backup log file;
Backup of "\\SERVER\Microsoft Information Store\First Storage Group "
Backup set #2 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "exch weekly"
Backup Type: FULL - Database & Logs (flush committed logs)
Backup started on 09/10/2003 at 04:50:22 .
Database Mailbox Store (SERVER)
Database Public Folder Store (SERVER)
Log files
Access denied to database .
^ ^ ^ ^ ^
WARNING: "Log files" is a corrupt file.
This file cannot verify.

Event Viewer is also reporting the following errors;

I'm afraid to restart the server incase it wont come backup. I also dont want to spend the entire weekend fixing it!

Can soemone please point me in the right direction?

MAtt,

What backup software and also if you have a system level AV product installed exclude the MBDDATA folders and the log files direcorie they can and will corrupt both.

Most likely your one of your logfiles is corrupt and therefore cannot be cleared upon a full backup. You risk an unmountable database once you restart your server. There is a KB article discussing a related problem:
