Hello all. I have 2 questions:

I am using Ex2k3 Standard. My Private store is approaching 16GB.

1. With Exchange 2003, I cannot create anohter store or storage group, correct?

2. I have 136 users. Some users have 3,000 items, that contstitue 1.4GB. That seems a little extreme. Could this be attachments? Or should there be some sort of compression running.

3. Is upgrading to Enterprise my only option to get around all this (besides trimming the mailboxes)? Seems like I cant exceed 16GB, I cant add a store or Storage group.

Thanks all,
Josh

Correct but you could have your users start using Public Folders more than they probably do today. Remember you have 16 GB's available both on Mailbox Store and the Public Folder store.

2.
Yes could be attachments etc., I suggest you set global Mailbox limits.

Doh. Thanks for the info Henrik. That really sucks that we are hitting the ceiling. I am going to try implement some policies, but I dont know how long that will last. 136 Users represents about half my organization.

Also, I am going to have people start archiving. Can Cached mailbox users who are offsite still have an archive? Some of my users never see the office.

Thanks,
Josh
