I am getting error Event ID 1173: Error 0x6bb deleting unused restricted view from folder, in the application log of my Exchange 2003 server. Mailboxes were migrated from Exchange 5.5 using the move mailbox method.
Is this something to be concerned about and how can i correct it?
Thanks,
Mike

I am also getting the following error:
Event Type: Warning Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event Category: Views Event ID: 1173 Date: 7/23/2004 Time: 10:26:27 PM User: N/A Computer: EXCHANGE Description: Error 0x6bb deleting unused restricted view from folder 1-1424FC on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (EXCHANGE)". Microsoft Exchange Information Store will try to delete the view again at the next maintenance interval. _____________________________________________
This is on a 2003 server with a two-week old install of Exch 2003. I do have recently disabled users (3) who are still receiving mail, and there are other errors related to them...these errors occur in proximity (application log) to: Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event Category: Logons Event ID: 1022 Date: 7/23/2004 Time: 10:00:57 PM User: N/A Computer: EXCHANGE Description: Logon Failure on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (EXCHANGE)" - Windows 2000 account NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM; mailbox /o=BCRA/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=heidi. Error: -2147221231 _________________________________________
Anyone have ideas, since we now can surmise that for the original post'r, didn't have anything to do with the fact that the boxes were migrated....

And can't find how to solve this. MS doesn't have anything about it at their support site.

Thanks, I couldn't find this article but this is the exact message
Error 0x6bb deleting unused restricted view from folder 1-2AEF46 on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store 3 (POLYEXBU13)". Microsoft Exchange Information Store will try to delete the view again at the next maintenance interval.
The view from folder number is everytime different. And it only occurs at priv store 3.
Due to problems with the IMF filter I've followed a MS article to add a custom form to see the SCL level of an e-mail.
And there was an option to make it available for everyone, and I have used this option because lots of people are asking me about the SCL level and why their spam is not moved ect. Because it worked good for me, I decided to activate this option.
The problem only occurs at store 3 and this is also the store where my mailbox is located.
Maybe this could be the problem but how can I undo this to delete the form for everyone? The technet item has something to do with the permissions. But I'm domain admin / exchangeadmin and also do have receive and send as rights for every information store.
And is there a way to find out which mailbox is linked to folder 1-2AEF46 ? [ January 05, 2005, 09:03 AM: Message edited by: Gert Jan ]

Hey all, I see I'm not the only one with these Warnings. Since no one seems to have a resolution, how about this? Since the folder ID is listed in the warning log, shouldn't you be able to find out what exact folder is having the problem? How is this done? ADSIEdit, PFViewer? Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

I had a similar error, and it was regarding users with disabled accounts, but not deleted accounts, after deleting the accounts in question the errors went away. I don't know if this is possible for everyone or anyone here, but I hope it is helpful information.

Here's my thoughts on this: This can be caused if the saved view that is being deleted cannot be found. One of my first thoughts is that there may be some MINOR inconsistencies between the tables in the Exchange databases. ISINTEG -FIX may correct this.

Hey frenz, Calm down these errors are not the fire-alarm type. As per Microsoft: "An error resulted during an attempt to delete an unused restricted view. By default, unused views are deleted if not used for a specified amount of time. The folder may be in use by another process, or permissions are prohibiting this action. The view may have already been deleted". From a newsgroup post: "Regarding the event 1173 from source MSExchangeIS, based on my knowledge, it happens when online maintenance is performed. It is not related to an IMAP logon issue. Basically, we can simply ignore these events. When an Online maintenance is performed, users can still access the Exchange Stores, thus some data in the Store may be locked by these users and cannot be maintained. This is a normal behavior. If no user accesses this data in the next maintenance interval, it will then be maintained at that time. As to the "View", it refers to the detailed database structure of the Mailbox Store. We can also ignore it. We also recommend you schedule a time to perform an offline defragmentation to maintain your Exchange environment. No user will be able to access the Exchange Server thus this is more effective: 1). In Exchange System Manager, right click the Store, click Properties. Then, copy the "Exchange database" path in the Database tab. For your information, my path is: E:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb. 2). Dismount the Store. 3). Click Start -> Run, type "cmd", and press Enter. 4). Use the "cd" command to enter the following directory "E:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\bin". 5). Enter the following command and press Enter: esetuil /d "E:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb". For your information, a successful output is similar to the following information: Initiating DEFRAGMENTATION mode... Database: E:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb Streaming File: E:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.STM Temp. Database: TEMPDFRG2880.EDB Temp. Streaming File: TEMPDFRG2880.STM Defragmentation Status (% complete). 6). Mount the Store again". So, guys take a deep breath and relax .

I actually had a dozen or so 1173's logged within the first hour or so after I had installed 926666. After I saw that they were harmless I left it alone. I haven't seen any since and I installed the aforementioned patch yesterday morning.
