I moved 2 mailboxes this AM and now Exchange will not deliver e-mail to these users - messages are held in a queue. In looking at ADUC on the old Exchange server, the Mail Store for the users is still listed as being on the old Server. If I use Exchange System Manager, the mailboxes are physically located on the new server and they are displayed properly on ADUC on the new e-mail server. How do I get AD back in sync? Thanks.

I haven't had a look for an MS article but it sounds as though AD has not been forced to replicate the change. How did you move mailbox? Do you know which GC you were connected to when you did this change? If so using adsiedit can you connect to that GC and see what the home-server attribute is set to on the user object? Is this the same on other GC's?

Paul - I used the Move Mailbox option in ADUC on the new e-mail server. It moved the mailbox with no problems. I'm not sure which GC was handling the process, can you tell me the steps to use adsiedit to find out that information? Thanks.

First question, do you have multiple GC's/DC's. When you fire ESM you can see the GC/DC that Exchange is using, connect to this server and check the attributes of the user object in the domain partition through adsiedit.msc

Yes, 2 DC/GC's - my network is segmented across a VPN connection. Each side of the VPN has an Exchange Server, DC & GC on it. We have been replicating AD changes just fine and my test accounts moved accross with no problems (of course). When I use ESM on the old Exchange Server, the mailboxes show up under the Storage Group of the new Exchange Server (which is where they should be). However if I try and use the Move Mailbox function to move the mailboxes back it pukes - because it thinks the old mailboxes are still in place.
Can you tell me where to look in ADSIEdit to find the information for the mailbox location? Thanks.

Domain Partion and then navigate to user object. I did a search of Microsoft and can't see your issue but it does sound like a replication problem

ADSIEDIT did the trick, I had to modify these attributes: homeMDB, homeMTA and msExchHomeServerName. Once I did that, messages started being delivered. I'll take a look at Replication and see what I can find out about updates not being transferred. I have another 12 users to move to this new server and I'd like it to go easier on the next 12. I did some test accounts and they worked great. Thanks for your help.
