Hello all,

Yet another newbie question.

I am in the final stages of setting up my first production Exchange 2003 server and I would like to test merging a PST into a mailbox.

I have installed the ExMerge tool as per Microsoft instructions. I go through the wizard make all the necessary entries point it to my pst and it doesn't merge.

Do I need to give the pst file the same name as the target mailbox, save the settings?

yes the PST file needs to have the same name as the mailbox.

Hello,

I've made sure that the pst file is the same name as the mailbox directory and it still does not work.

What other settings should I be looking at and should I save the settings after I make these configurations?

do u have permission to exmerge into the database. To make sure from the properties of the mailbox store go to the security and advanced. Remove the inheritance checkbox and click COPY. sort the permissions by type and remove ALL deny permissions. Try the exmerge now. If it works make sure you go back and re-check the inheritance checkbox.
