We are having a perormance and space issue with exchange 2003. We have 130 gig drive my priv.edb is 65 gig and the priv.stm is 54 gig leaving us with 8 gig free. We purchased another 73 gig drive and i've started moving mail boxes to the new store, but the old store is not changing in size. Does any one have any ideas why. Thanks for any help

Hiya, the Exchange store will not change in size until you run an offline Defrag using ESEUTIL. Essentially when you delete items from Exchange databases (or move mailboxes) this creates whitespace in the store (this is unallocated database pages). The only way to shrink the database is with an offline defrag, but you have to bear in mind that you will need 110% of the database size free on the drive to perform a successful defrag.
