Hi! I deployed Exchange 2003 on back-end and front-end. Back-end Exchange is the mailbox, public folder and OAB server. Front-end Exchange has RPC Proxy functionality. EventView on front-end Exchange gives every 15 Minutes the following warning:
Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Category: General Event ID: 7201 "Background thread FDoMaintenance encountered a problem on database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (FE01)". Error code 0xfffff9bd. "
I checked Exchange databases with ISINTEG and found no problem. I did not find any good information on Microsoft web site about this warnings. How can I fix this problem?
Thanks in advance. Mustafa

Hi Musti,
If you are not hosting any mailboxes on your FE exchange server and if you are not using it as an SMTP relay, it's good practice to completely remove mailbox stores off the server.
It's step 4 of the Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2000 Server Front-End and Back-End Topology
Step 4. Dismount and delete stores if necessary: If you are not running SMTP, dismount and delete all mailbox stores. If you are running SMTP, leave a mailbox store mounted, but make sure the mailbox store does not contain any mailboxes. If you receive large amounts of external e-mail for public folders, you can mount a public store, as this will improve mail delivery to public folders.
Let me know if removing the store is an option for you.

Hi Tom,
front-end Exchnage is also our SMTP Bridgehead server. SMTP queues are stored also on this server. Because of that we need mailbox store on it.
Any idea about Event-ID?
Best Regards Musti

Hi Tom,
another reason: If we delete or disable mailbox store on front-end, System Attendant service cannot send any Non-Delivery Reports....
Best Regards Musti
