I've got a good one for you.

I have an Exchange Server that fell over last week whilst I was on paternity leave. When I arrived back at work to fix the problem I discovered that the problem was with PRIV.MDB, the public mailstore. Thinking to myself I'll just restore from tape backup I discoved that non of the backups of this particular file have been successful (and before anyone says it's open file so it doesn't get backed up it was backed up! just not successfully). However after some initial diagnoses it turns out that the problem is caused by bad sectors on the hard disk (the disk is NTFS so these should have been diagnosed and repaired, but obvioulsy weren't and the backups are relecting this problem). So I'm left with a 4GB Mailstore that I can't access. I've run through the MS Knowledge base are tried all their fixes (useutil /p etc) and it will not fix the database. I've stuck all the files back in the state they were before I attempted a fix. Even more bizarely the datbase is shown as being in a consistent state when I use eseutil /g.

Now I know that at this point it is pretty hopeless, but does anyone have a fix?
