Here's a good one for all you experts out there:

Site A is located in the US with Exchange 5.5 and "domain.com"

Site B is located in the UK with Exchange 5.5 and "domain.co.uk"

Jane Doe has transferred from the US to the UK office. Her email was exported to a .pst file, "jane.doe@domain.com" was deleted from the US mailserver, "jane.doe@domain.co.uk" was created in the UK, and the mail was reimported.

Everything works great and seems fine, but the user will probably get email sent to "jane.doe@domain.com" for a few more months. How can I create that alias on one of the servers so that she will not miss any email? The two servers are connected with a site connector.

Thanks,

the best thing to do is to do the following in the US mailserver

1. mailbox with email address jane.doe@domain.com

2. Custom recipient for email address jane.doe@domain.com.uk

3. In mailbox properties of jane.doe@domain.com....delivery options.....forward mails to the custom recipient jane.doe@domain.com.uk

4. Hide mailbox and custom recipient from address book

You can't have two identical SMTP addresses in the GAL, even if one is a mailbox and the other a CR.

The simple solution is to add "jane.doe@domain.com" as a secondary address to her UK mailbox.

Tried this approach but I got a bounce back from the System Admin on domain.com saying that the recipient was not found on domain.com. Any other steps to make this solution work?

It Works! I just had to force a directory sync and now everything is fine!

Thanks for the help.
