Unable to reply to messages

I have moved a mailbox between sites (same org - extracting to .pst and importing back and recreating identical mailbox) and the user is working fine, and people can send email fine. However people are unable to reply to messages sent by the moved user - recipient name not recognized.

On selecting the user from the GAB it works fine - can anyone help? Please.

Exchange actually uses the X400 address to send e-mail between mailboxes. So if you 'move' a mailbox between servers, you are actually disabling or deleting the old mailbox, and creating a new mailbox in the new site. The new mailbox is not going to have the same X400 address even if you use the exact same information in every other field (ex: smtp address) because the site name has changed. So in order for people to reply to existing e-mails sent to that old mailbox, you have to add a new X400 address to the new mailbox (after deleting the original mailbox to free it up), that exactly matches the X400 address of the old mailbox.
