Hello everyone! I wanted to post something positive in this forum (and gloat a little) =]. Just wanted to let you know that we are now successfully running on Exchange 2003 with the Exchange 2000 server now uninstalled. Lets hope everything else goes ok with the rest of the Win2K3 Migration.

I think the easiest way would be to install the new hardware with Exchange v2003 into the existing Domain and the existing site(s).

Once installed you can just move the mailboxes from one server to the next.

Once ALL of the mailboxes are moved reconfigure your Exchange v2000 connections to the outside world to work with the Exchange v2003 server, and all should be set.

I have NO issues with moving mailboxes, works GREAT.

I have NO issues with co-existence with Exchange Server v2000.

I HAVE PLENTY OF ISSUES with co-existence with Exchange Server v5.5.

Cyberking, what do you mean you have new hardware for the E2K3 server?

Do you mean, you currently have an Exchange 2000 server, you plan to built up and install Exchange 2003 onto a brand new server?

If so, you need install Windows 2003 on the new server, make it a Member server.

Using your Exchange 2003 CD, do a Forestprep, followed by a domainprep.

Than you are ready to install Exchange 2003 onto that new server, join that server to the existing Exchange 2000 Org, than it is a simple move mailbox to the new Exchange 2003 server.
