We are attempting a 5.5 to 2003 migration in a small business enviroment. We currently have 5.5 running on a 2000 server box that also hosts our domain and active directory. We just built a new server and have installed 2003 small business edition on it. We will be migrating to exchange 2003 on this machine. The documentation I have read indicates that we must move the exchange directory service to active directory. Ok, in my enviroment active directory is hosted on the same 2000 server as 5.5 . Will the exchange directory move to active directory on this server, or does it have to go to a different machine hosting active directory? The only other machine capable would be the 2003 server we built to host exchange 2003 and we don't want to host any other service on it other than exchange. So my question is, can we move the exchange directory to active directory on the 2000 server and not the 2003 server? Thanks...
