Ok here is the scenerio.

1. Exchange 5.5 installed with 2003 Exchange server connected to same site.
2. Within the internal network we can move boxes from 5.5 to 2003 with no problems, user log on and they outlook client recognizes this and moves to the new server and all works great.

3. We have outside offices connected through a VPN tunnel, if we move their boxes this is what happens. 1. The client recognizes the new exchange server 2003 by name or ip with no problems, however when you move the box the client (outlook) just freezes, if you try to create a new profile, when you get to the username section and click on check name... you get a message coming back saying username cannot be found.

I guess what I need to know is how an outlook client talks to exchange 2003 server, I am thinking that my cisco router is not allowing everything through that needs to link to Active directory in exchange....
