Remote discovery of 'Exchange-server' service - 14.Oct.2000 10:52:00 AM

Hi folks!

Is there any way of discovering thru' java programming that Exchange server is running on a machine? I mean does it listen on any 'wellknown port' which can be pinged remotely? Since Exchange server manages e-mails it may well listen on portno 25 but it does not classify the service as Exchange-server service? Does it subscribe to any MIB?

I am into programming for dicovering network topology. Ur inputs are greatly appriciated.

Prasad
