I have all internet traffic forwarded to my IP via domain whatever.whoever.com. But I have set up digisphere.local as the LAN domain at home.
I have installed MS Exchange 2000 and can send and receive mail successfully with the LAN. But cannot send mail to administrator@whatever.whoever.com .. get a delivery failure message in return from say, my hotmail account. I have set up an MX record under a zone called whatever.whoever.com that points to the mail server - doesn't help though.

Can anyone point me in the right direction if not solve it.

Thanks in advance.

This is pure DNS issue . set up DNS correctly with ISP . your NS record is your home server or ISP ?. if ISP you have ask ISP to ad mx record for your Exchange server's IP address .
