Hello,

I've been looking for a way to use my other SMTP adresses ( as added in my AD user profile ).
I would like to send a mail using my non standard SMTP adres. I'm using E2K and Outlook 2000.

Any help would be great.

Okay, do you mean that you want to use another email address as the return address on your outgoing mail?

To do this go into your User Properties, Email Addresses tab, and set the one you want to use as Primary. The primary email address is always used as your return address on outgoing mail.

I can set another primary adress that's not the problem. The problem is we have 3 company's so if we mail for company X we would like a sender adress of name@x.com and for the Y company name@y.com.

Any help would be aprriciated.

Hmm, not sure if it is possible for an Exchange user to pick and choose which return address to use wihtout changing the Primary.

One way to get around it might be to set up a different user account for each company, with the corrosponding address set as Primary. But you would have to monitor each account and use the right one when responding.

Barry is practically right-on w/solution, however this can be done without the user logging into multiple mailboxes or having his name appear in the GAL multiple times.

Create a new mailbox with what you want as an additional primary SMTP (@companyX.com).

In mailbox properties of companyX.com, setup the users primary mailbox as "alternate recipient".

Have the user find it in the GAL and add to contacts.

Hide this entry (companyX.com)in the GAL.

The user should add the FROM: field when composing new messages. When he wants to send mail as companyX.com, he'll simply need to add that contact in FROM:.

Responses will be sent to him, based on the "alternate recipient" configuration.

oh yea, don't forget to give the user full mailbox permissions on companyX.com, et al.
