We recently upgraded to Exchange 2000 and now when I send a message, it takes forever to get to the Outbox. Once it's in the Outbox, it goes right out.

We use our Exchange server only for public folders. We use a standard SMTP/POP3 server (Mailsite) for all our mail.

When I use Outlook with just the Internet Email service installed, it works fine.

When I add the Exchange service, I can see the public folders, and I can receive email. When I send email, there is a very long delay before it gets to the Outbox.

When I take the Exchange service back out of my Outlook, then everything's back to normal but I can't see the public folders.

Can someone point me in the right direction for debugging this problem?

Thanks,
Todd
