Greetings!

I'm testing Instant Messaging. First - my test environment:
==================
Exchange 2000 Ent. running on a small test domain. SP3 and the rollup installed.

Domain name is mydomain.local - email addresses are mydomain.com. All of this works fine.
==================
When I enable a user account for IM, it sets the email address for IM to the user@servername (in this case, SRV2, as in user@SRV2). I'd like to set the user email address for IM to match their true email address (user@mydomain.com). But I can seem to figure out how to do this.

I've created an SRV DNS record as recommended in several tutorials, but that made no difference.

What am I missing? Any online guides to this specific problem?

EDIT: I should add that when I log in as user@SRV2, IM works fine. I'm just wanting to get around the email address issue.
