mike818181 -> MS Exchange Management service encountered an error (0xAccess denied.) (26.May2004 11:34:00 PM)
|
Windows 2000 Server SP3 running Exchange 2000 SP3. This is a backend server that has been running for 2 years now. The server seems to be running normally - with the exception of the 9997 events that keep occurring in the Application log of the server.
This event 9997 happens Every Minute - there are always 2 instances of event 9997. See examples below.
Event Type: Information Event Source: MSExchangeMTA Event Category: None Event ID: 9997 Date: 5/5/2004 Time: 11:20:09 AM User: N/A Computer: EMAIL
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 9997 ) in Source ( MSExchangeMTA ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: File: 'y:\mta\src\emsmta\sysglue\sbmifwnt.c', line: 1720, MTAtid: 3, NTtid: 2596, GetDiskFreeSpace() Returned Error: 5(0x00000005).
I read in a newsgroup that I could just ignore this because this is a native Exchange 2000 org. Since there are no 5.5 servers, the MTA is not needed that much.
BUT, now I notice that I cannot use the message tracking center to search for messages that have been sent.
The Microsoft Exchange Management Service will not start. I get an access denied message when I try to start it:
Event Type: Error Event Source: MSExchangeMGMT Event Category: General Event ID: 6 Date: 5/26/2004 Time: 1:56:43 PM User: N/A Computer: EMAIL Description: The Microsoft Exchange Management service encountered an error (0xAccess denied.)
Any ideas on how to resolve?
Mike
