Mail size limit - 12.May2005 2:54:00 PM
Guest
I would like one user to be able to send and receive mails with unlimited size. I want rest of all the users to be able to send and receive mails of 10MB limit.

How do I do this config on an already exitsing production server. How do I find out what limits are in place right now?

Thanks in Advance

I read a Microsoft article which describes all about the size limit.

Currently my Global limit is 10240KB
Internet Connecttor limit is not set
SMTP Virtual Server limit is not set
1 Particular user limit is set to 25000KB

When the user tries to send email to internet email he still gets the following returned mail:

"This message is larger than the current system
limit or the recipient's mailbox is full".

Please help

Thanks in Advance

Henrik,

Thanks for your reply. But I have already mentioned that I went through microsoft article which says the same thing. I have also mentioned the size of all the 4 places. I still get a returned mail as soon as I try to send an email with size more then 10MB.

Please help

After you made the changes did you bounce the System Attendant?

Thanks Scotty

What does it mean to Bounce the System Attendant? How do I do that? Is there someplace I can also read about it.

Thanks

I guessed you meant to Restart the "System Attendant" service. I did that. But still does not work.

As soon as I send the mail with attachments more then 10MB, i get a Undelivraalbe mail from System administrator saying reduce the size of attachment. It works fine with attachments less then 10MB.

Please help

Hi,
Try this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q322679

This is the global message size.. you can set it, and then set the user's mailbox size in the AD Users and Computers
