Hi all,

Is it a good idea to install Exchange 2K with other services (such as IIS, SQL, and FTP) on one server?

Thanks in advance,
TTN

most people will say no. it's best to install on a member server with no other services running. of course if it is a small setup it would be hard to justify a server for each service.

but then microsoft small business server 2000 bundles all those packages for use on one server so it is possible.

Hi. Keep in mind the Users Limit in SBS (50 Users) so, if you want to Scale Up you must buy the (Migration Pack) to divide the product.

Another reasons

1. If you database is big, you gonna have Disk intensive procedures, and the performance of your Exchange goes down.

2. Have an FTP server on Exchange is not a secure recommendation.

3. IIS (You must run IISLockdown) of course all the Security fixes up to date.
