Where is the MTA located in exchange 2000.

The service is called 'Microsoft Exchange MTA Stacks' (emsmta.exe).
Messages are queued in C:\Program Files\exchsrvr\mtadata. Mainly used in Mixed Mode environments e.g. Exchange 5.5.

Messages are set to/from other mail servers using the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP).
