I have read several articles on how to specify the default domain, all of them do it similarly but when it comes to the meat and potatoes its different.

Some articles say to put a \ and that denotes the default domain, probably working with your AD DC. And then some say to actually put the domain name in the box.

so what should i put in my box? domain or \

Thats really up to you...

If you only have one domain for your users to authenticate against, just put in your domain name.

If you have multiple trusting domains and/or the users would like to authenticate with UPN (username@domain), insert a \.
