I have external Hosted Forefront. email comes in fine with an attachment to a mailbox of vacancy@DOMAINNAME.com which has a store and forward rule to a contact vacancy@pc6.DOMAINNAME.com. I then have a send connector with an SMTP Address Space of pc6.DOMAINNAME.com and a Network Smarthost by IP (SAP Inbox). Any attachment smaller than approx 7.5MB routes correctly and ends up in SAP Mailbox as desired. However, emails with larger attachments end up going back through our external hosted forefront and cannot find a way back to pc6..DOMAINNAME.com and sends an NDR to vacancy@DOMAINNAME.com with an "Invalid Domain" error. Why is mail destined to vacancy@pc6.DOMAINNAME.com from vacancy@DOMAINNAME.com that is supposed to go through an internal smarthost (SAP System) being routed back through our external hosted forefront. Also, we do have an internal deployment of Forefront on each of the Hub Transport Servers.
