I installed another server on the network (Windows 2003 R2 ) (Though the old network was just windows 2003 std. server).
The new server was introduces to be used specifically as the mail server and with a bigger storage capacity.
When installing the Exchange 2003 server on the new windows 2003 R2 Server there were error relating to issues with installing exchange 2003 in the windows R2 version of windows. But all the reference on microsoft site has confirmed the error as non issue.
After installing the Exchange server 2003 on the same site as the old exchange 2003 server. I did a mailbox move from the exchange sys manager. The move was successful but the mailbox moved cannot receive external email.
Are their any security or routing  issues that i need to configure.
Any one come accross this problem before??
It will be appreciated.

What happens to inbound mail?  Does it bounce?  Does it get stuck in a queue somewhere?  You didn't mention how large or complex your Exchange environment is, nor what other systems touch messages on their way to the mailbox server.

All inbound emails get stuck in the queue. Emails are received by mailboxes on the same server but cannot sent email across diferent servers on the same site. I do not know if i need any sort of connector to actualise this.

I have rebooted the server and the problen still no changed.
Sometime Ago I migrated the 30 users from Exchange 5.5 to 2000 and to 2003.

Any help will be appreciate as i had to move few of the moved mailbox back to the old server and it has been working fine. I need to move all these mailboxes to the new server as a matter of urgency.
Help please.

Assuming the old server and new server in question are both in the same Routing Group, let's first center troubleshooting around communications between the two.

You mentioned specifically external messages to the new server.  Does that mean internal messages are delivered?  What about from the new server to the old server?  What about from the new server to an external address?

Are the two servers in the same IP subnet range?  If they are in different ranges, how are the two ranges routing?  Is there a router and/or firewall in between?  Is TCP port 25 open?

On the old server, attempt to send a message via port 25 using Telnet to the new server.  Note any non-OK responses from the new server.  Does the new server even respond to the telnet attempt?  If not - is the SMTP service running on the new server?

Can you see both servers in the ESM?  Create a mailbox on the new server.  Can you see it in the ESM?
