Dear All,

some days back my cas/hub server stop recieving emails, after troubleshooting i found out that i have only 1.20 GB space available on the C:\ Drive. and the problem was related to back pressure, i move my queue.edb file to other drive and remove the previous file ( i still have a copy of that old database file). i got 6 GB available on the C drive and everything starts working fine.

today i checked that i again have 1.40 GB available only. and i found some 2000 emails having .eml extension with 10 GB size total in:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Transport Roles\Replay

i am also using GFI Antispam.

i just change the path of the queue database, but i didn't move the database itself, is this any thing because of old Queue database?

how should i solve this issue...

If your queue database has grown too big, you can defrag it to reduce space, however you do need a huge space if you are having a lot of mail flow.

10GB or even few megs would get stuck if that minimum space gets used up and Transport service is forced to stop on hub boxes.

now emails have start working fine, i have two cas/hub servers working with WNLB, i noticed that other server does not have even a single email in replay folder, i just cut all emails from here and paste them in other server replay folder...now even the first server is recieving mails properly and sending them.

but there is still one issue left, i notice that the hub 1 is normally processing 1 email at a time, some times it process 3 emails but not more then that, whereas on the other server i can see even more then 10 emails with .tmp extension in the replay folder. can you tell me how to speed up the processing of emails in replay folder.

Run the below command and check the PickupDirectoryMaxRecipientsPerMessage and PickupDirectoryMaxHeaderSize and make changes if Necessory....

Get-TransportServer <Identity> | List Pickup*, Replay*
