Hi guys, need your advise. I am tasked to migrate our existing 2003 exchange to the latest. I have read that there is no direct path from 2003 and need to go via 2010.

My question is this. We have no mailbox. Our exchange is just being used as a relay SMTP, to push email outside that is generated by our web applications. Do I still need to upgrade to 2010, then to 2013? Or can I just introduce and install a fresh 2013 and point our DNS to the new exchange and remove 2003? Will there be any effect to the current AD/Excahnge schema?

Thanks for the help!

Joel

thanks for the reply. saw the link already before, and my answer remains.

What will happen to my current infra, if I just introduce a new exchange 2013? I don't need to migrate as there is no mailbox/public folders/etc to migrate

Thanks!
