by default, the server limits distribution lists to 150 addresses. i wanted to "up" this limit ...so my users can create distribution lists of greater amounts. i heard that it was a simple registry hack ...but i have yet to find it. so ...i figured i would post my questions here.

thanx guys ...you ROCK! "[Big

how will any of this have an effect on the outlook client itself? i reach probably somewhere around 150 e-mail address in a distribution list, i recieve the following output:

This distribution list has reached the maximum size for your network e-mail server. No new members could be added.

Active Directory has a limit of 5000 entries in a group and the limit you are experiencing is an Outlook issue not an Exchange issue.

You are correct that PERSONAL DL's have this limit.
I think the way to get around this is to use nested DL's.

Right. The DL's need to be created on the server. The administrator needs to create a DL with as many email addresses that you need. The DL can contain users, contacts, or other DLs.
