Hi,

I'm trying to move the MDBDATA onto  a new server with the same version of Exchange 2000 installed. The old server's Exchange doesn't started up after an attempt to install Active Directory it ran as a PDC. The new server has ForestPrep,DomainPrep and AD installed with a fresh copy of exchange but I need to put the old Store onto the new server.  Any ideas the best method ?  I don't think Exchange Configuration Names match, is there a tool to fix or check this?

Hope someone can help?
Thanks !

The new server must have the same server name as the old one. You can use ADSIEdit to check configuration at LDAP level (see Support tools for Windows).
A simple restore of the EDB and LOG files is all required to restore the DB to able to mount it.
