Hi all,

I'm going to try to explain my problem as clearly as possble seeing i'm no exchange expert but do have some good insight in exchange and IIS so here i go:

In our organisation we have 1 big exchange organisation hosting 4 exchange servers in 4 country offices each responsible for it's own mail domain. Ech exchange is physically in a different windows sub domain.

We would like to setup OWA for the company and have setup ONE front-end server. This frontend server is at the moment hosting ONE owa site for our main office (over ssl) and it's working perfectly.

Now i have been asked to setup OWA for the other offices too using the same DMZ front-end server.
I have tried all i know but can't seem to get this setup to work. My question is:

1) Is it possible to host owa sites for different backend servers on one dmz front-end server?

Is there documentation out there on how to do this?

What do i need to do this?

my first experiment was

1) Goto the HTTP protocol in exchange manager for my dmz server
New > virtual Server > name > exchange path = other backend domain > access = other domain

New > virual directory > name > exchange path = other backend domain > access = other domain

If i give my virtual directory a name exchange or any other name (except for mailbe) i'm getting errors

If checked on this and it seems our backend system hosts a folder mailbe that i can brows and see the users mailboxes in.

I was wondering if anyone can confirm that it is possible to host more then one frontend owa site on one dmz server and could make a short description on how to do this.

Hi Tom,

The purpose of an front-end server is to proxy OWA requests etc. to one or more back-end servers. The below white paper should give you a good understanding of how this works:

Microsoft TechNet: Exchange Server 2003 and Exchange 2000 Server Front-End and Back-End Topology
