Hi, currently runing a windows2003 domain with 2xDC and 1xExchange2003. the hardware on the excahnge server is getting old so have bought new hardware, will do a swing migration, however i am thinking of installing windows 2008 server on the new excahnge box and then installing exchange 2003 on that, any issues?
I might convert the existing server to be a front end mail server eventualy

Exchange 2003 cannot be installed on Windows Server 2008, but is supported with Windows Server 2008 domain controllers.

You have two options.
1. Buy a machine with Windows 2008 and use downgrade rights to install Windows 2003.
2. Swing up to Windows 2008 and Exchange 2007.

As already pointed out, Exchange 2003 with Windows 2008 is not possible.

Simon.
