Hi,

I am going to have an offline drefragment on Exchange 2000.

Because of this you need to have a 110% free space of the DB that you are defragmenting, Have attached an external USB drive on the server
Not sure how the defragmenting process will find the driver. There are other driver on the machine but not with enough space.
I read some doc that explain the defragmentin process but there does not say any thing in witch driver exchange is going to use for 110% needed space.

Any idea?

Thanks
Dritani

I have not used defrag for a while but the command should look like the following:
\\program files\exchsrvr\bin> eseutil /d Drive:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb /tX:\temp.edb”
Wher X is the drive that you want to use. I hae not done it on a USB Drive before but I think it should go fine.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer.

Can you please clarify:
\\program files\exchsrvr\bin> eseutil /d Drive:\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb /tX:\temp.edb”

I am not clear for the last bit >>>>/tX:\temp.edb” <<<< should the 't' be there ?

Thanks
Dritani

Let's say that your USB drive has F letter, so the command should be "/tF:\temp.edb"

Thanks
