Has anyone experercing their C: drive run down from 2GB to 744MB and then people can not recieve or send email out in Exchange 2000 Server enviroment.

What I needed on a minimal daily tasks to restart the Exchange Information Store Services in order for people to recieve and send their email.

I read an article that spam email does result in such symptons and as a result of spam relyaing in the email server that can cause in low hard disk space.

This occur now daily and is a pain. "[Smile]"

Best suggestion is to move databases and logs to larger drives - 257184 XADM: How to Move Exchange Databases and Logs in Exchange 2000 Server

If you do not have much space on the server, you can perform a FULL Exchange Aware backup on the server and clear the log files or use Circular logging (147524 XADM: How Circular Logging Affects the Use of Transaction Logs)

Be sure that the server is closed for relay (310380 HOW TO: Prevent Exchange 2000 from Being Used as a Mail Relay in Windows)

Also, consider using message filtering to limit the amount of spam received (276321 XADM: How to Filter Junk Mail in Exchange 2000)
