I have situation on my hand as every time I try to open the temp dir. on my exchange server , the CPU goes up to 100% by explorer .exe or system .exe process
obvious it could be some kind of virus although I did already scan the hard drive using Norton antivirus 5.0 and Norton for exchange 20
I was able to look on the content of the temp dir. and I found that it contain the listed files
** Microsoft Word document files
** Microsoft Excel worksheet files
** files with ext. .D2S
**Files with ext. tmp
** Mse000 file Folder
** N20c6ae84.exe Application file , which is the that I suspect the most as I was trying to copying to my WK and it did crash my machine
The application that reside on the exchange server are listed
Norton Antivirus for NT
Norton antivirus For Exchange
My backup is done using Backupexe 7.3
remotely possible
When I tried to rename the temp.dir it I got access denied

This is very much the whole scenario ., I appreciate very much any feed back and or any resolution to this situation

If you feel that it is one of the files in your temp directory and NT won't let you delete it the first thing I would do is to delete it. I know you tried it, but there is a way around your problem. What I would suggest is to get a copy of NTFSDOS from www.sysinternals.com. This will allow you to boot up your NT box with a disk in a DOS shell and delete everything in the temp directory, including that nasty little file. This is just what came to mind when I read what your post said. I hope it helps.
