RPC communication failure...

Hello, about 4 years ago we moved our Exchange 5.5 server to a new machine and moved all mailboxes, etc everything over.
After a recent reboot, I am getting hundreds of these warnings in event viewer.Apparently, it is trying to connect to our old exchange server. Before reboot, i was getting these errors occasionally and wouldn't bother me because I know the old Exchange server isn't doing anything.

How can i stop the new server from trying to replicate with the old server?
Can I delete the old server from Exchange admin? When I try to it says I have 6 mailboxes and gateways on that server (even though the old server is completley disconnected from the network.)

thanks in advance

Make sure there are no references to the old server, check the public folders replication tabs (and system folders), check for old connectors, and so on.
You can remove it using the admin.exe /r (Raw mode) and remove it from the organisation.
