Hi All,

We are running exchange 2007 standard with SP1 and are having problem relaying message through our exchange server.

The whole exchange install is on one physical server with three roles, Maibox, Client Access and Hub Transport.

The problem is that we have a third-part software that is trying to send emails to the outside world through our exchange server.

On the Transport Rule (global transport setting) we have added the IP of this server (where the third party app trying to send email) so it should be okay to send mail. Now this server is trusted so we are fine allow it to relay emails through our exchange server.

I've tried doing the basic telnet session test from the third party server but its comming back with the error 5.7.1 unable to relay message.

I'm wondering if i need to configure another receive connector under Hub Transport?

Any suggestions?

Ash.

hi mate,

Why don't you try to create a separate Connector. select anonymous permission.

Hiya,

Yeah i will try this on Monday with anonymous authentication. Just realised that i posted in the wrong section as well. It should have been in Exchange 2007, would be good if someone can move the post to the correct section.

Thanks!

Ash.

Hi ismail,

I managed to get it going by creating a recieve connector and setting the permission to anonymous.
