Dear forum members, I am in the process of planning to upgrade from Exchange 2000 to exchange 2k3. t seems pretty str8 forward, however, how do I check to see if the Instant Messaging in Exchange 2000 component is installed?

Run Setup from the Exchange 2000 CD and on the Component Selection window check that the 'Microsoft Exchange Instant Messaging Service' is ticked or not.

Also you can check if IM service is running in Services.msc console on server.
